[Bike Check] Nate Riffle’s Custom Painted & Chopped Specialized Enduro 29

Our pal Nate Riffle just built up a fresh bike that has us completely drooling. Wanting just a little less travel out of an Enduro 29, he had the Ohlins rear shock modified to shorten the travel down to 145mm our back and mated it to a 150mm travel RockShox Lyrik up front. Full specs and details will be listed below, but first drool over some pictures that Nate took of the finish work on the frame itself. It is truly unique.

“This was a project that was 2 years in the making with Swiz (Brian Szykowny – instagram: @swiznooski). We just never found the right bike to do it on…”

“We tossed around a bunch of ideas, old Patina’d trucks and Beetles were pretty common as inspiration. He took it, ran with it…and well, you can see he blew all expectations out of the water.”

“He used a paint that actually rusts, so if you touch the links and smell your hands…they’ll smell like rust”

“There are six layers of paint to pull that look off, it’s crazy. The man is a magician with a paint gun”

– Nate Riffle
