[Racing] UCI REDUCES NUMBER OF DH WORLD CUP ENTRANTS

[ad3]
The UCI has decided to reduce the number of riders who will compete at the World Cup DH, for the following reasons:

• Lessen the impact on the track during practice.

• Decrease the space that the organizers must make available.

• The program of the race days become more flexible, especially in case of delays due to bad weather or accidents.

• Athletes with little experience can not participate.

The official press release:

Rationalising the great appeal for Downhill Mountain Bike, it was agreed to reduce the total number of riders at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano. This will reduce pressure on the course During training, space required from the organizers, a slightly reduced schedule to give some flexibility in the case of stoppages / red flags, and importantly reduce the wide ability range That means some riders are currently portatili access to UCI Mountain Bike World Cup who maybe do not have sufficient experience. In the same spirit, the UCI Management Committee approved to increase to the UCI Mountain Bike Team annual registration fee.
