As one of the first big MTB related announcements from Eurobike, Shimano is launching a dropper post through their “Pro” lineup. \u00a0Dubbed the Koryak, it’s cable actuated but is only available with 120mm of travel and the price is undetermined at this time. \u00a0Below is the limited information we have from Shimano in their press release below.<\/p>\n

PRO UNVEIL NEW KORYAK DROPPER POST<\/strong><\/p>\n

Designed for enhancing the enjoyment and versatility of your mountain biking, PRO proudly showcases\u00a0its first cable-integrated dropper post at this year\u2019s Eurobike Show (Friedrichshafen, Germany, 31st\u00a0August to 4th September)<\/p>\n

\"PRSP0188anglefront\"<\/a>Weighing in at 520g (inc. remote and cable) the\u00a0Koryak adjustable alloy seat post brings 120mm of\u00a0smooth non-indexed travel for on-the-fly\u00a0adjustability.<\/p>\n

\"PRSP0188AngleSide\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The smooth downward movement and quick,\u00a0responsive upwards rebound of the post is\u00a0provided by a replaceable air cartridge. The\u00a0mechanism is operated by an internally routed\u00a0cable, which runs down the seat post and through\u00a0the frame, and is connected to a bar-mounted lever\u00a0by Shimano\u2019s OPTISLICK cables for optimum performance in the face of dirt and mud.<\/p>\n

\"PRSP0188A\"Two lever options are available, a regular up\/down lever which can be mounted on the left or right of\u00a0the bars, or a Firebolt-style lever (compatible with Shimano i-spec II) for those running 1×11 or a\u00a0SHIMANO SYNCHRONIZED SHIFT set up, which takes advantage of the free left hand shift lever position\u00a0for operating the dropper post. A full complement of spares are available including air cartridges and\u00a0new bushes to prolong longevity.<\/p>\n
