Once again, we witnessed an exciting race with the top riders\u00a0giving it their all, yearning for a precious position on the podium.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.redbullcontentpool.com\/embed\/video\/5b6f55bc5c3cae00b6c1a6e9?_=1534023121980\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Loic Bruni, after some time away from the very top, returned to the highest step of the podium after his world championship victory last year.\u00a0The world champion showed off his best qualities with dynamic, aggressive riding.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-189635\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-5.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-5-750x500.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-5-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was a spectacular and truly intense run for Troy Brosnan,\u00a0fierce and picking up pace\u00a0all along the way, with some\u00a0line choices that were quite different\u00a0from the other competitors.\u00a0Troy dedicated his second place finish to his grandfather, who died yesterday.\u00a0Third place went to Danny Hart who, coming down last, worried Bruni and Brosnan, but\u00a0wasn&#8217;t able to undermine them from the top spots on the podium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-189636\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-1.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-1-750x500.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Amaury Pierron\u00a0continues to amaze and took fourth place despite a crash during practice this morning.\u00a0Thanks to the additional points he gained today, Pierron\u00a0emerged as the early, overall\u00a0winner of the 2018 season of the UCI DH World Cup.\u00a0Fifth went to Loris Vergier,\u00a0with an impeccable and exciting run\u00a0that was not enough to further climb the podium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/mtsa_dhi_me_results_f.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-189623\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/mtsa_dhi_me_results_f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"966\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/mtsa_dhi_me_results_f.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/mtsa_dhi_me_results_f-750x453.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/mtsa_dhi_me_results_f-768x464.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was a truly\u00a0deserved victory for Rachel Atherton in the women&#8217;s field, who captivated spectators with a fast, aggressive and\u00a0well controlled run &#8211; the type that she had accustomed us to in her &#8220;perfect season&#8221; of 2016, and definitely her best run in the last two years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-189637\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-2.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-2-750x500.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/image_proxy_verylarge-2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rachel pulled out her best to counter the excellent form of Tahn\u00e9e Seagrave, who dominated the last round in Vallnord. Even today she would have landed on\u00a0the podium of the Elite category.
