third lap, Nino Schurter broke his chain again. &#8220;Again&#8221; because a few weeks ago he had the same inconvenience\u00a0during the Swiss championships, which prevented him from defending the red-shirt jersey.\u00a0Fortunately for him it was not too far from the tech zone, where the mechanics were waiting for him with a new chain in hand.\u00a0However, he lost some time, having to push the Italian, Fl\u00fcckiger, Carod and Cooper, with about a minute and a half ahead of Nino.\u00a0On the sixth lap Fl\u00fckiger began to push\u00a0hard on the\u00a0downhills, putting pressure on his opponents.\u00a0And here is where it got hectic: Kerschbaumer fell, badly bumping shoulder and landing face down.\u00a0It took time to recover and get up again&#8230;time that Fl\u00fckinger and Cooper use to ward off what would be the first victory of a world cup race for one of the two.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtb-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/39060310_1994745510547448_5367138128337305600_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-189708 size-full\" how they begin to fight each other in a rather unprecedented show, given that in recent years it was always Schurter\u00a0on the attacks going for the victory.\u00a0Meanwhile, however, Kerschbaumer began to push again, reaching deep and overtaking Carod in third place, despite bleeding knees and who knows what other various pains.<\/p>\n<p><a crash on the brutal track, with bikes constantly rolling down the mountain.\u00a0And here, Kerschbaumer grabbed the opportunity and took the second position, but Fl\u00fckiger had a sufficient advantage to take him to his first career victory in a world cup race.<\/p>\n<p><a the day, Schurter took home the 2018 World Cup Overall, despite a puncture just before the finish, which put him back seventh position.
