[Press release] The Impec Lab has teamed up with the BMC Mountainbike Racing Team to create the\u00a0new BMC Teamelite 01 – the world\u2019s most technically-advanced hardtail mountainbike.<\/p>\n

The high-performance discipline of cross-country racing has become, quite literally, a race to\u00a0the top. Grueling, all-out sprints to the finish are supported with bikes whose maximum efficiency and minimum weight ethos pay no heed to compliance \u2013 until now. The new BMC Teamelite\u00a001 is the culmination of an evolution of race bike performance. Its unique combination of efficiency, traction, and fatigue-fighting compliance technology places it in a category of its very\u00a0own, and raises the bar by setting new industry standards.<\/p>\n

Over the past 2 years, BMC\u2019s team of composite engineers have evolved carbon designs and\u00a0tested and re-tested MTB prototype function and feasibility at the Impec Lab in Grenchen,\u00a0BMC\u2019s in-house composites and engineering playground. After a final round of testing with the\u00a0world\u2019s most successful mountain bikers, the BMC MTB Racing Team, the end result has come\u00a0to life in the form of revolutionary race performance.<\/p>\n

Micro Travel Technology (MTT) \u2013 a new Solution for Rearend Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new BMC Teamelite 01 possesses an innovative solution to rear-end hardtail compliance,\u00a0coined Micro Travel Technology (MTT).\u00a0With this new system, cross-country\u00a0racers can ditch the common practice of\u00a0manipulating tire pressure to gain more\u00a0compliance for technical descents.<\/p>\n

MTT\u2019s damping and additional frame\u00a0compliance smoothes out the ride, letting riders apply more power to gain that\u00a0elusive differentiator; speed.<\/p>\n

Micro Travel Technology (MTT)- the Philosophy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Part carbon construction and part technical feature, MTT provides 15mm of rear-end compliance.<\/p>\n

It is supported structurally by the dualguided, fully integrated XCell damper that\u00a0enhances lateral and torsional frame stiffness. Additionally, advances in the carbon\u00a0technology used for the seat and\u00a0chainstays, available only at the Impec\u00a0Lab, maintain pedaling efficiency and\u00a0guarantee bottom bracket stiffness.<\/p>\n

The icing on the cake? All of these invaluable extras create a 1,080 gram total frame weight\u00a0(hardware included) with absolutely no compromise to race performance. MTT is a clear advancement in cross-country MTB race technology.<\/p>\n

Additional Facelifts to the New Teamelite 01<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the compliance advancements in the new hardtail, the rear-end of the bike has\u00a0also received a facelift with 142 thru-axle spacing.<\/p>\n

The new frame design also makes integrated cable routing a piece of cake. Maintaining Big\u00a0Wheel Concept (BWC) 29er positioning throughout the line, the 2016 Teamelite 01 comes in 5\u00a0sizes (XS\/S\/M\/L\/XL) with an additional 85mm of clearance on the XS over the previous model\u00a0year\u2019s smallest size.<\/p>\n

Race Proven by World Best in 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

World champions are allowed to demand the absolute best and most advanced equipment from\u00a0their suppliers – every second counts. 5-time World Champion and BMC Mountain Bike Racing\u00a0Team rider, Julien Absalon will put the bike to the test in this year\u2019s World Cup Series. \u201cTo be\u00a0honest, when I tried out the new MTT technology, I was anticipating a compromise\u201d says Absalon, \u201cI\u2019m convinced it climbs just as good as last year\u2019s bike, with a little extra something for the\u00a0down hills which we definitely need.
