[Gallery] Legends go massive at The Deer Camp

//

We’ve all heard the big news by now that the infamous Post Office dirt jumps in Aptos, CA were just plowed after a good long run. While we’ve been covering it’s final moments, the spots last days have drawn in a great deal of MTB talent from all over the world. A couple miles down the road we got to witness some next level riding at Deer Camp. It was almost like a mini crankworx in someone’s back yard.

Welcome to Deer Camp – the back yard of Greg Watts and Tyler McCaul. Greg takes a gander at his masterpieces.

No dig, no ride. Kyle Jameson hydrates while Brandon Semenuk and Logan Peat pack and perfect.

Tom Van Steenbergen and Martin Söderström were in town last week. We’d typically say that they’re teaching young grom Connor Gallart a thing or two about packing, but Connor is well beyond his years and puts his time in at all the local spots. You’ll soon see why it’s paying off.

Tools of the trade.

You don’t just learn front flips and 720s without soft landings to practice into. Tom Van Steenbergen fluffs the wood chips.

It’s cool to see world class athletes like Martin Söderström coming from as far as Sweden to ride here in the off season.

Speaking of Sweden, Anton Thelander flew across the pond as well.
