Bos presents their newest DH offering : The Idylle Rare FCV

The Rare has seen a full redesign. The stanchions have increased from 36 to 37 mm. Even the arch has been improved for better tire clearance and increased stiffness.

One of the biggest changes is on the hydraulic side of things. BOS have added the FCV (Frequency Control Valve) – a technology that has already been seen in some motor vehicle applications.

We don’t have all of the details on it’s inner workings just yet, but BOS claims that the FCV can differentiate between mass transfer(rider input) and bump forces(terrain input). This helps the bike pedal more efficiently, but more importantly – for high level downhill racing – it keeps the chassis from moving excessively. FCV should, in theory help keep the bike really stable and prevent diving.

Also new is the new hydraulic bottom out, BOS says it is so progressive that it is difficult to detect when it actually engages.
