Andreu Lacondeguy’s Rampage winning YT Tues

///

Just over a week ago Andreu Lacondeguy won Red Bull Rampage with a storming run in Virgin, Utah. Shortly after, we pulled the Spanish ripper aside and checked out his bike setup.

Andreu with his YT. Full SRAM with some help from Hope as well.

SRAM XO1 DH drivetrain. This was definitely the top choice of most of the top athletes. Simple, lightweight DH specific drivetrain. A drivetrain is the last thing Andreu wants to worry about when he’s doing a huge flatspin 360.

Rock Shox Vivid. With adjustable beginning and ending stroke rebound it’s easier to find a setting that’s supple off the top but still won’t buck Andreu on the big hits.

DMR Vault Magnesium pedals. Our good friend and UK ripper Olly Wilkins brought two sets of these to Rampage. One set for Andreu, and one set for us. Look for a test here in the next few weeks. So far we’re loving the feel of them and they’re stupid light. Thanks O-Dub!

Avid codes with the OLD style rotors. We’ve noticed a lot of riders rocking the old rotors at Rampage. Perhaps they provide more power? Better modulation? Who knows? Either way, Andreu runs Codes to get the most possible power when it counts.

Ankle Braces – a common site for some extra support on the harsh landings.

Jorts and some Scott Grenade Pro kneepads. The best pads on the market, hands down.

Sensus grips. Andreu is obviously going to be rocking his Disisdaboss signature grips. They’re sick. Hope end caps to round out the package.

Hope Direct mount stem with a Renthal Fatbar in the 38mm rise height.

Mavic 721 rims. These were quite a common site at Rampage. Tried and true. The design is around 15 years old and it’s still one of the best rims on the market today. Mavic knows rims. Conti tires to round out the package.

SDG Dirt Jump seat. Comfier, easier to grab on superman seat grabs, and according to quite a few riders, you’re less apt to get your fingers caught in the rails.

Rock Shox Charger Boxxer. Also on our bike at the moment. Loving it so far – look for a test in the very near future.
