[Video] Audi Nine Knights 2019 – Send it to the Moon

[Press Release] – World’s Best Mountain Bikers Return to the Quarry in Birkenfeld, Germany, on the 9th-14th September 2019, and This Time Spectators Can Witness the Action First Hand.

Audi Nines MTB, the celebrated Freeride and Slopestyle mountain bike event in partnership with Bikepark Idarkopf, returns to the much acclaimed Ellweiler quarry near Birkenfeld in the bike region of Hunsrück-Hochwald, Germany, for more out-of-this-world action. For the first time at this awe-inspiring venue, the event also includes a Public Contest Day for fans to come watch their mountain bike heroes.

The world’s best mountain bikers will once again “Send it to the Moon!” for the Audi Nines MTB 2019. Returning to the otherworldly quarry transformed into a mountain bike utopian space-scape, the week-long event will astound riders and spectators alike.

From the 9th till the 14th September 2019, the Audi Nines MTB invites some of the world’s best mountain bikers to explore the possibilities of an extraordinary venue built within a stone quarry in Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate state. And this time around, you’re invited, too: during the Public Contest Day on the 14th September, this little corner of the universe opens its doors for all and sundry to come and witness this action-sports spectacle in person. Entry is free!

Expect a fully immersive experience. Spectator areas will have the perfect view of the whole redesigned course that promises to be (believe it or not) even bigger and better than last year’s edition. There are a few yet-to-be-announced special features that will be sure to stun the crowd. Using the groundwork from last year as a starting point, course builders Sam Reynolds (GBR) alongside Andi Brewi (AUT) and Clemens Kaudela (AUT) of Balzamico Trail Design are already hard at work re-imagining this one-of-a-kind venue. The course design will combine a freeride line with obstacles of epic proportions and a complete slopestyle course packed with drops, jumps and special jib features.

“We are very much looking forward to heading back to the quarry and moving some dirt again! We will build on last year’s awesome course but will be taking it up a notch with some new mega features!” – Sam Reynolds (GBR)

“Audi Nines MTB is the sickest! The quarry provides possibilities for massive jumps and incredible courses for both Downhill and Slopestyle bikes. The vibe last year was so crazy because all the athletes were so motivated to push each other to do the wildest riding possible. I expect an even more insane experience this year. Can’t wait!” – Nicholi Rogatkin (USA)

Several top international mountain bikers have already confirmed their presence at this spectacle in Germany’s Hunsrück mountains, including Nicholi Rogatkin (USA), Sam Pilgrim (GBR), David Godziek (POL), Emil Johansson (SWE), as well as exciting young up-and-comers like Jackson Goldstone (CAN). Also keen to return are local German legends Erik Fedko, Patrick Schweika, and Lukas Knopf. Once more there is the opportunity for young guns to join the Audi Nines MTB family by winning the “Become A Nine” online video contest, which is now accepting submissions by those wanting to send it to the moon.

Come and bear witness to this special occasion: a unique intersection of action-sports stars, cutting-edge course designs, as well as top-notch media content from the highly talented Audi Nines filmers and photographers. More information for visitors will be available at www.audinines.com.
