Rocky Mountain richiama le Instinct e le Pipeline in alluminio

Rocky Mountain richiama i telai in alluminio di Instinct, Instinct BC e Pipeline delle annate 2018, 2019 e 2020. I modelli in carbonio non sono soggetti al richiamo. La decisione è stata presa dopo che alcuni triangoli anteriori si sono rotti con la possibilità che il tubo orizzontale si stacchi dal tubo sterzo.

Il richiamo riguarda le taglie S, M ed L con i numeri di serie che partono con PRK17 e PRK18, e con PRK19 fra PRK19-00001 e PRK19-01275. Il numero di serie si trova sotto il movimento centrale

RM ha venduto 4.700 modelli delle bici in questione durante gli ultimi tre anni. Chi ne possiede una deve smettere di usarla e portarla da un rivenditore che gli spiegherà il da farsi.

Saint-George-de-Beauce, QC, June 18, 2020 – Because the safety of our riders is our top priority, we have decided to initiate a voluntary safety recall of specific alloy only Instinct, Instinct BC and Pipeline bikes of 2018, 2019 and 2020 model years. Carbon models are not affected.

A few incidents in the field along with further testing has confirmed the possibility that affected front triangles could crack which could lead to a separation of the head tube from the top tube.

To date, there has been a very small number of incidents reported out of over 4,700 units produced.

Riders affected by this recall should stop using their bike immediately and contact a Rocky Mountain authorized dealer for instructions. Additional information is available on our website at bikes.com/en/safety-recall, or you can reach Rocky Mountain directly using the toll free number, +1-877-744-1515.

Affected models include sizes small, medium and large with serial numbers starting with PRK17 and PRK18. Product sizes small, medium and large with serial numbers starting with PRK19 between PRK19-00001and PRK19-01275 are potentially affected and need replacement. The serial number is engraved under the bottom bracket.

This voluntary recall includes the free replacement of the alloy front triangle for model years 2018, 2019 and 2020 Instinct, Instinct BC and Pipeline trail bikes with 29” and 27.5+” wheels that share the same frame. Rocky Mountain is working closely with consumer product safety authorities worldwide about this issue and have already submitted a product recall plan to remedy the situation as soon as possible. Further communication will be sent in collaboration with these authorities in a joint effort to reach Rocky Mountain bike owners affected by this recall.

Una azienda seria testa i telai a fondo prima di venderli, tra l'altro neanche a buon mercato

Guarda che tutto si rompe anche se lo testi x bene, vedi Cannondale scalpel dove le crepe partono a go go e non mi sembra che abbiano fatti richiami... Così anche altri marchi parlando di bici....

Quindi se si rompe l'unica parte della bici che fanno loro significa solo che hanno lavorato male. Sono tubi in alluminio non è un'astronave! E venduti come telai premium

Se dopo fanno un richiamo è il minimo, non è che bisogna ringraziarli perché non mi fregano nascondendo tutto sotto il tappeto, fanno il minimo che mi aspetto dopo che ho comprato un telaio difettato.
Che poi altri non lo facciano vuol dire solo che oltre a fare telai difettati sono pure disonesti

Ripeto...punti di vista...BMW mi richiamò dopo 12 anni per cambiare l' airbag...fortuna che non era mai servito allora... :prost:

Non capisco il collegamento, a parte che un'auto è un tantino più complessa di 4 tubi saldati, ma è una cosa che devono fare. Non è che se lo fanno sono seri, lo devono fare e basta, è un tamponare ai loro errori, non è un comportamento virtuoso.

Sarei curioso di sapere se i possessori di queste bici, che ora ad inizio stagione dovranno stare fermi, se reputano seria l'azienda perché li ha avvertiti due anni dopo perché qualcuno si è sfracellato prima di loro e hanno scoperto il problema!

Mi spiace ma non capico il tuo ragionamento.
Hanno delle casistiche che evidentemente non avevano contemplato...onde evitare problemi e cautelare gli utenti...procederanno con riparazione/sostituzione/richiamo che sia...non vedo il problema sinceramente, anzi...tanto di cappello per me.
